Canadian salmon producer Cooke Aquaculture has made an agreement with Gray Aquaculture to begin processing fish at the plant in Hermitage, Newfoundland, reports VOCM.com.The farmer has entered into a long-term lease to operate the plant and process farmed salmon from both Cooke and Gray Aquaculture, according to Nell Halse, VP of communications for Cooke.It's a positive thing for the industry and for the south coast, she added.The two companies are hoping to begin processing in Hermitage in June, with the recruitment process for the starting workforce of 20 to 30 people beginning in the area soon.
