French Finance Minister Michel Sapin told reporters that the euro zone's second-largest economy would grow by just 0.4% in 2014, compared with the 0.5% growth forecast issued just a few weeks ago. In 2015, France's economy would grow by 1%, versus a previous forecast of 1.7%
The French growth downgrade has caused Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel to call on the euro zone to stick to fiscal discipline and push ahead with reform efforts to help the still fragile economy. She stressed that sticking to budget rules, once agreed to, "must become the euro zone's trademark."
