China’s supreme court said it may jail people caught fishing illegally for up to a year, a measure that might include fishing areas that are currently in dispute with the Philippines
The announcement comes after an arbitration court at the Hague determined China has no rights to a 200 mile-radius exclusive fishing zone in areas around the Paracel and Spratly Islands in the South China Sea.
