The Peruvian national fisheries association (SNP) has rejected accusations against its president, stating it was false that Elena Conterno had recommended Renato Guevara as scientific director of the country's maritime institute, Imarpe, while minister of production, Gestion reported. Conterno indicated that the accusation made by congressman Roberto Vieira "is totally false".
In a statement, SNP said that the researcher Guevara worked at Imarpe 30 years ago and was appointed as scientific director in 2001, when Conterno was not a minister [...]
