A Norwegian investor has bought Argentine fishing firm San Arawa, which will be managed by another company backed by some of his countrymen.
Dag Wittusen -- a former executive with Norwegian billionaire Kjell Inge Rokke's oil, gas and seafood conglomerate Aker -- has acquired the hoki and hake harvester San Arawa, via holding company Pescamar, he confirmed to Undercurrent News.
San Arawa's two vessels will now be managed by the Argentine hake, hoki and toothfish harvester Estremar, owned by the Nordic private equity Ocean Harvest Invest, which the companies said was necessary to enable "long-term sustainable operations".
Ocean Harvest is itself owned by former Aker executives Webjorn Eikrom and Finn-Arne Lorentsen. While Wittusen retired from Aker three years ago, he retains an advisory association at the firm, he told Undercurrent News [...]
