New Zealand King Salmon (NZKS) said it has plans in place to develop a pair of offshore farms on the northeastern coast of the country's South Island, while also planning the relocation of existing farms and a switch to a single year-class production model.
The premium salmon farmer said it had applied for a pair of offshore licenses, with the consenting process due to take place in October/ November this year. Named 'Blue Endeavour', the project will cost up to NZD 35 million ($22m) to build, although NZKS said the costs could be staggered in its annual report [...]
