Oscar Garay, a former executive at Salmones Magallanes and Mowi, has left his leadership role at a group representing salmon farmers in Chile's southern Magallanes region
Garay, who departed his job as farming manager at Salmones Magallanes three months ago, is moving to Indonesia to lead the development of an offshore seriola farming project that uses submerged cages.
Since 2011, the Chilean executive held the position of farming director at Salmones Magallanes, which was last year acquired by Empresas AquaChile, a firm that was then taken over by Agrosuper.
Agrosuper, a major seller of chicken and pork to Asian markets every year, merged four salmon farming companies under one operating structure, combining its existing Los Fiordos unit with Salmones Friosur, a company that it bought last year, with AquaChile and its recent acquisition, Salmones Magalllanes [...]
