SHANGHAI, China -- 2019 is a “breakthrough year” for eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) from marine algae, the fishmeal and fish oil industry was told at the Marine Ingredient Organization's (IFFO) annual conference.

Omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA from algae are now a “viable alternative” to fish oil, Cristian Meinich, general manager of Norwegian fish oil trading firm Chr.
