UK NGO Human Rights at Sea has urged the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC) to implement new measures on fisheries observers' safety and compliance with human rights.
These should be implemented to replace previous resolutions [CMM 2017-03, Resolution 2018-01, and CMM 2018-05] or, alternatively, the work could stand alone, the NGO said in a new report published last week as pressure increases around the issue of humans rights abuses in tuna fisheries [...]
