Large-size scallops hit $28/lb at auction as new US season takes flight

The US' 2021 Atlantic scallop season kicked off on April 1 and, three weeks in, it's panned out as expected: few large scallops but plenty of large prices. As of April 21, 2.7 million pounds of scallops had been harvested. More than half -- 1.8 million lbs -- were sold for a combined $25.2m at auction. Read the full story here [...]
