Israeli recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) supplier Aquamaof Aquaculture Technologies aims to take control of its Pure Salmon Poland joint venture with 8F Investment Partners as part of a "divorce" settlement being negotiated between the two, sources told me.
The ongoing separation talks between the two companies are driven by 8F's acquisition of a RAS technology provider previously owned by French conglomerate Veolia, with the future of the Poland facility one of the major talking points, two well-placed RAS sector sources said. The Middle Eastern nation of Oman has opened the first of four new shrimp farming projects, named Qurun Shrimp Farm, according to parent company Fisheries Development Oman (FDO). Qurun, which has cost some OMR 20 million ($51.8m), is built in an area of 500 hectares of land and should have a production capacity of about 2,100 metric tons in 2022.
