Export prices for both fresh and frozen cod out of Norway broke previous records in week 41 (Oct. 10-16), as demand continues to outstrip supply, according to the latest data from the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC).
The average export price (free-on-board, Norwegian border) for frozen cod (03036301 and 03036303 customs codes, largely headed and gutted, or H&G) climbed for the third week in succession, hitting the unprecedented level of NOK 57.2 ($5.39) per kilogram, and surpassing the previous peak seen in August.
