Uncertainty from US bills drags Russian H&G cod prices to $700/t below Norway

Prices for H&G Russian Atlantic cod are being impacted by controversial bills proposed by US senators, taking the gap with Norway cod to its widest level since just after the Ukraine invasion

Uncertainty around Republican Dan Sullivan's US-Russian Federation Seafood Reciprocity Act of 2023 -- which seeks to block Russian fish from entering the US even if it's processed in a third country – is a major reason for the drop in delivered China prices for Russian headed and gutted Atlantic cod, sources told Undercurrent News.
