Ireland's minister for agriculture, food and marine, Charlie McConalogue, has announced a development in the €25.5 million ($28m) pelagic fisheries support scheme aimed at assisting the Irish fisheries sector.
Tier one and Tier two polyvalent vessels that had no authorization to fish mackerel in December 2021, and who availed of aid under the Temporary Fleet Tie-up Scheme in that month, will not have the payment from that scheme deducted from their aid under this new pelagic fisheries support scheme, he said [...]
