Huge spike in incidental herring deaths adds to BC salmon farmers’ stress

Canada's Department of Fisheries and Oceans reports that as many as 817,265 fish were accidentally killed in 2022 off the coast of the province, mostly Pacific herring. The majority of the deaths were caused by Cermaq Canada
