The town of Boothbay Harbor in the US state of Maine will have a new commercial fishing pier as part of a $2.1 million redevelopment project.
The project aims to boost the local economy and provide state-of-the-art facilities for the fishing community, according to local news outlet Boothbay Register.
The 87 Atlantic Avenue site, formerly Sea Pier, will be transformed into a mixed-use complex with residential apartments, retail spaces and public waterfront access.
The project also involves building a granite seawall that meets the Federal Emergency Management Agency flood zone height requirements and developing a pier with a poured-in-place concrete deck.
