The lobster industry in the US state of Maine has officially had its first North Atlantic right whale (NARW) death attributed to the fishery. A necropsy on NARW #5120 has been completed, confirming that the juvenile endangered whale found with rope identified as belonging to the Maine lobster industry died as a result of chronic entanglement.
