BioMar has achieved Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) feed certification for three Chilean production facilities in Ercilla, Pargua, and Castro.
This certification, covering feed for Atlantic salmon, coho salmon, and trout, underscores BioMar's commitment to responsible environmental practices and social standards within the industry, according to the firm.
BioMar said the certifications mean that ASC-certified salmon producers in Latin America now have local access to compliant feed, helping them enhance their competitiveness in global markets.
"With this achievement, we strengthen our leadership in feed production and reaffirm our commitment to responsible practices and ecosystem care," said Gabriela Heim, BioMar Chile's commercial manager.
Cristian Dominik, quality and formulation manager, added that ASC certification supports BioMar's mission to help farmers boost productivity while meeting high sustainability benchmarks.
The ASC's feed engagement manager, Aisla Jones, noted BioMar's role in supporting certified farms as they work towards meeting the October 2025 compliance deadline for ASC feed.
