The prices of farmed tilapia in China have stabilized this month in keeping with a state of equilibrium in the US market, and that's something the Chinese industry expects to continue at least until January.
This after a price decline related to the tariff threats made by Donald Trump prior to his election as the next US president in November, as reported by Undercurrent News.
The prices for 500-800g farmed tilapia delivered to factories remained at CNY 9.0/kg ($1.23/kg) in Guangdong (first below) and CNY 9.4/kg in Hainan (second below) in week 51 (Dec. 16-22), and these prices have been stable for two weeks, based on the Undercurrent News price portal.
