Iceland’s Westfjords and east coast
As Undercurrent News discovered on its first trip there in September, Iceland is a place where things are advancing for the seafood industry.
Not only is it at the forefront of making the best use of as much of the catch as possible, but going into 2015 its processing equipment manufacturers are leading the field and its salmon farming industry appears to be making a resurgence after several aborted attempts.
For this trip, Undercurrent reporter Neil Ramsdenvisited areas around Reykjavik where technology firms such as Marel, Skaginn and Vaki reside, before flying out to the Westfjords to see salmon farmers Fjardalax and startup Arnarlax.
