Inside China’s new fishing ‘city’

Zhoushan National Pelagic Fishery Base (ZNPFB) is a huge base for China's distant water fishing fleet, located in Zhoushan on China's eastern seaboard. Covering an area twice the size of New York's Central Park, Undercurrent News visited ZNPFB in September 2019.

In his report, Undercurrent's Louis Harkell described ZNPFB's so-called Pelagic Fishery City as the "extraordinary centerpiece" of the base.
