The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) has launched its first domestic promotion with online retailer Fresh Direct.Headquartered in New York, and geared towards distribution in a five-state area in the northeast, The Summer Lovin’ promotion is the first of three multi-species promotions scheduled with the retailer over the summer.Since May, the ASMI retail program has also arranged several fresh summer promotions with retailers including WalMart -- with whom it launched a nationwide fresh overwrap program for wild Alaska salmon -- and its club store division Sam's Club, which included an in-store demo program featuring fresh Alaska sockeye salmon.
