Chinese salmon processors expect a flurry of orders from US buyers despite the new US tariffs of 10%, but are less optimistic about their future when tariffs rise to 25% on Jan. 1.
To some surprise, salmon made the US Trade Representative's list of Chinese goods worth $200 billion in imports, set to be levied tariffs of 10% on Sept. 24, rising to 25% on Jan. 1. Fillets of cod and pollock were omitted.
