Brothers Matthew and George Kailis have left the Australian seafood business their family built up around three years after selling a majority stake to China’s Legend Holdings.
Legend -- the $45-billion company behind the Lenovo computer brand -- sent out a note on March 18 announcing the departures of the brothers from KB Food International Holding, the joint venture the Chinese created with the family to take control of Kailis Bros, the largest seafood processor in Australia.
The note, seen by Undercurrent News, states David Bonomini, the company’s chief financial officer, has taken over from Matthew Kailis as group CEO. Tim Storey, who has previously worked for the company, has come back as general manager of its east coast division [...]
