Diversified group Austevoll Seafood has seen a substantial decline in salmon sales contribute to an overall weak first quarter in which total earnings across all sectors decreased by 20%.
In its Q1 financial report, the group said: "The lower than expected growth rate in Q4 2018 was to have a negative impact on harvest volume in Q1 2019."
Austevoll noted the harvest volume for red fish was 14% lower than for the same period in 2018. However, the report also states that biomass growth in the first quarter has been strong, with biomass levels 6% higher than where they were at the end of Q1 2018 [...]
