Despite the global spread of coronavirus during the first two months of the year, import volumes of US shrimp continued to surge in February, outpacing previous years by a considerable margin.
Data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) shows the US imported 51,564 metric tons of shrimp worth $439.7 million in February 2020, marking an increase of 20% in both value and volume imported over February 2019.
