The former chief operating officer at British insect feed company AgriProtein is throwing his lot in with Singapore-based agri-food tech start-up Akualogix, dedicating himself to the role "full-time".
John Diener, co-founder and CEO of Akualogix, said on LinkedIn the decision had come after four years of planning and designing the company's aquaculture systems for urban, vertical farming.
The startup, whose designs resemble vertically stacking large tanks with recirculating water, is also on the hunt for experts in marine biology, aquaculture, engineering, software and device development.
Akualogix relies on systems thinking and innovation in biological, mechanical, and digital technologies, according to Diener. Singapore, with its high concentration of aquaculture startups and dense urban environment, is the "ideal" location for the business [...]
