The Danish recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) salmon farmer Atlantic Sapphire reported in its latest operational update that the average price achievement for fish from its Florida "bluehouse" in the US domestic market dropped by 27% during the first quarter of 2021, compared to the previous three months.
The firm produced 421 metric tons of salmon during the quarter, which were then sold to market at the average price of $6.8 per kilogram, down considerably from the $9.4/kg average it had been achieving at the tail end of 2020 [...]
