Blue swimming crab prices rocket past 2018 heightsBlue swimming crab (BSC) prices have soared to unbelievable heights, bringing prices on both red swimming crab and Venezuela blue crab along for the ride, and there appears to be no slowing down. The average wholesale price range for a pound of pasteurized jumbo lump BSC was up 35-40% since Jan. 7, 2020 -- just four months ago -- when UB reported an average price range of $23.50-$24.00/lb, and it's even higher than the unforgettable, panic-inducing $30.00/lb peak that prices reached in May 2018 for the same size and style of crabmeat.
