Prices for pollock out of Russia are expected to rise further over the rest of the year, with neither the Russian nor US supply in a position to fill the swelling demand anticipated from recovering markets, it emerged from the North Atlantic Seafood Forum.
Speaking at the event, Sturlaugur Haraldsson, managing director at the European branch of Russia's largest pollock supplier Norebo, said that it was "very unlikely" that the Russian fleet would catch its full quota for 1.8 million metric tons of pollock this year [...]
