US ban on Russian-origin seafood from China could hit $220m worth of importsA ban on Russian-caught seafood processed in China would affect an additional $340 million worth of US seafood imports, on top of $1.2 billion worth directly imported from Russia, according to an Undercurrent News analysis of trade data and industry estimates. As of Tuesday, it was still unclear whether the ban affects imports from China, the US' largest seafood supplier, if made from Russian raw material.
UK gov't issues sanctions against Russian whitefish importsThe UK government has issued additional sanctions against Russian imports, which include sanctions on the import of whitefish products such as cod, haddock, and pollock. Under the new terms, a list of goods worth approximately £900 million ($1.17bn) will face an additional 35% tariff hike on top of current rates.
