Export prices for frozen cod and haddock out of Norway in week 19 (May 9-15) went through a small correction while a larger drop was also seen in the fresh cod market, according to the latest data from the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC).
Prices for frozen cod have been on a steadily upward trajectory for the past 10 months and now sit at NOK 49.92/kg, a small dip of NOK 0.6 week-on-week. It's still a rise of approximately 70% in the same week of 2021, made all the more remarkable given that export volumes are roughly double, at 1,670 metric tons for the week (see chart below) [...]
