Norway Royal Salmon (NRS) has culled 800,000 fish at a farm in the country's north after an outbreak of the disease parvicapsulose.
The company, which last year was acquired by salmon farmer NTS, said it had destroyed all the fish at its farm in Elva, Alta municipality, for animal welfare reasons.
Parvicapsulose is caused by the parasite parvicapsula. The disease is associated with low-grade to significant mortalities, according to a Norwegian research paper from 2005 [...]
