Skipjack tuna prices for delivery in May to Bangkok, Thailand, remain stable above $2,000 per metric ton cost and freight; stable compared to last month, which reached a five-year record high.
Meanwhile, tuna prices in Manta, Ecuador, have dropped about $50/t to $1,800/t, increasing the discount compared to their Asian equivalents.
"Prices in Bangkok are showing some resistance at $2,000/t, although packers are asking for $1,900/t," one source in Thailand told Undercurrent News.
