An illegal shipment of baby eels worth about CAD 500,000 ($367,037) was seized at Toronto (Ontario) International Airport on May 15 by enforcement officers from Canada's Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) and Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). The approximately 109 kilograms of elvers were destined to be shipped overseas.
