Audun Sivertsen Fjeldvaer is set to take the helm as the new CEO of Norwegian aquaculture equipment and technology company ScaleAQ, effective Aug. 19.
"With Audun in the CEO chair, ScaleAQ has a leader with extensive experience and knowledge of the industry. Over several years, he has demonstrated an ability to understand customers' needs and the industry's opportunities and challenges, particularly regarding fish welfare and sustainability. As a member of the group's management team, he has played a key role in establishing and developing ambitious goals and strategies, which he will now be central in implementing," said Torgeir Svae, chairman of the board at the firm.
Fjeldvaer has been with ScaleAQ since 2013, holding senior roles in sales, product strategy, and technology development. Most recently, he led ScaleAQ Seabased, the group's largest division.
He also brings valuable first-hand experience from his time as a shift manager in salmon farming at SalMar. "I am looking forward to taking on the CEO role," he said.
ScaleAQ, headquartered in Trondheim, Norway, reported financial growth, with total revenues reaching NOK 3.4 billion ($318.5m) in 2023. The company is now poised for even greater expansion, aiming to double or potentially triple its business in the coming years, it pointed out.
Concurrently, Sigurd Flaat Liljefjell will step into the role of head of ScaleAQ Seabased. Liljefjell, who has been with ScaleAQ since 2018, has previously served as the division's chief financial officer (CFO).
CFO Svein Vestermo, who has been serving as acting CEO since November last year, will remain in his role as CFO and continue as a member of the management team.
