REYKJAVIK, ICELAND -- Undercurrent News is reporting live from the Icefish expo and the Fish Waste for Profit conference, running Sept. 18-20 in Reykjavik, Iceland.

The Icelandic Fisheries, Seafood & Aqua Exhibition (to give it its full title) is the longest-running international fishing exhibition in Iceland. First held in 1984, the expo has developed into a "showcase of every aspect of the commercial fishing industry and seafood sector," said its organizers.

Then the Fish Waste for Profit event, commencing Sept. 19, provides attendees with knowledge on how to maximize their return on investment from potentially discarded parts of the catch that can be turned into high-value products for non-food sectors.

Scotland needs its own seafood cluster
