French sturgeon farmers under the Caviar d'Aquitaine label have become the first in the industry to adopt an innovative 'Blue Impact' feed from Danish producer BioMar Group, the feed producer said.
Those producers are now working with BioMar to integrate this Blue Impact feed into their farming practices, according to the firm.
BioMar said the new feed minimizes reliance on scarce marine resources, incorporates restorative raw materials, and reduces its carbon footprint through responsible sourcing.
According to BioMar, Caviar d’Aquitaine's producers are also on the verge of receiving 'Protected Geographical Indication' certification.
BioMar sustainability lead Rocio Alvaro said the collaboration includes "rigorous monitoring" to uphold animal welfare and environmental compliance as part of its broader goal of reinforcing consumer trust.
