How fast can shrimp run on a treadmill?
The question is being keyed into online search engines around the United States after the newly formed US Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, shared some examples of "wasteful government spending" it found, including funding for research involving "shrimp on a treadmill to see how fast they run."
The bizarre story surfaced during one of Elon Musk's Spaces chats on X earlier this month.
