Canada contemplates earlier start to Newfoundland snow crab fishery

The Newfoundland and Labrador snow crab sector has asked for a March 15 season start date -- weeks earlier than usual -- but the federal fisheries department said ice conditions and search and rescue capabilities have to be considered
