The Canadian government issued a recall warning Saturday (March 1) for Hansang-brand frozen fish cakes after it was discovered that the product may contain egg, which is not declared on the label.
Four products are impacted by the recall, including Hansang's Assorted Fish Cake with Katsuobushi Soup Stock, the brand's Frozen Fried Fish Cake, Frozen Fried Fish Cake & Rice Cake and Frozen Fried Fish Cake (Mala Flavour). UPC codes for the affected products can be found here.
The Canadian government is urging those who may have purchased one of the products not to consume it as it may cause a "serious or life-threatening" allergic reaction.
Last month, in a similar recall notice, the Canadian government also flagged a frozen par-fried fish cake from Real Fish Cake brand due to undeclared egg. That recall notice can be found here.
