The Blue Food Innovation Summit in London, the UK will see five startups from around the world showcase their seafood solutions to experts and investors looking to explore potential collaborations and scale-ups.
The seed-stage companies include:
- Banyu of Indonesia, which "grows high-quality seaweed seedlings using regenerative farming to boost yields, restore oceans, and support coastal communities."
- Blue Food Performance from the UK, which "provides independent, transparent, and scientifically verified blue food sustainability assessments to ensure scientific integrity and commercial relevance."
- Flomo of New Zealand, which has "developed a fishing gear technology designed to enhance animal welfare, protect ecosystems, and improve catch quality."
- Flonergia Systems of Canada -- part of summit partner the Yield Lab Asia-Pacific's cohort -- which has developed an energy- and cost-efficient pump system providing an alternative to existing centrifugal pumping and aeration systems, and
- Ocean Twist Biotechnology of Italy, which "enhances fish welfare and aquaculture
productivity with their circular high-performance protein feed ingredients."
The start-ups will field questions from industry specialists including executives with EIT Food and seafood investor Bluefront Equity.
The summit takes place April 8-9, 2025.
