Undercurrent News is to launch its own Norwegian farmed salmon spot price index, utilizing the price reporting it has conducted for over a decade.

Our Norway salmon market assessments cover fresh, gutted Atlantic salmon delivered to the carrier (FCA Oslo) in Norway for transport to Europe. Every Friday, we report on the spot prices being agreed for salmon to be delivered the following week, generally covering 2-3 kilogram fish, 3-4kg, 4-5kg, 5-6kg, and 6kg+.

These FCA Oslo prices come from various sources throughout the value chain, including producers, processors, distributors, traders, brokers, and exporters, to reflect the most accurate assessments.

Using these, we have also launched our own FCA Oslo 3-6kg price index. This is weighted 30:40:30 between 3-4s, 4-5s, and 5-6s. 

Undercurrent also carries salmon export price data from the Norwegian Seafood Council, which shows weekly volumes and free-on-board prices for sales to export markets at the Norwegian border.
