Undercurrent News is expanding its US wholesale price reporting with several new data sets going live on Wednesday, April 2, taking the active quotations on the proprietary platform to 431.
The new prices are:
- Farmed salmon from Norway and Canada
- Live lobster (hard shell, soft shell)
- Wild Mexican shrimp, both white and brown
- Octopus (Indonesia, Philippines, Spain)

The US wholesale coverage now spans major categories, including shrimp, lobster, crab, groundfish, farmed whitefish, scallops, cephalopods and salmon, providing subscribers with actionable insights at both a transactional and trend-based level.
In the coming weeks, UCN will be announcing coverage dates for Mediterranean seabass, seabream and wild salmon.
The Norwegian and Canadian salmon prices are additions to the Chilean fresh and frozen prices we have gathered since week 49 of 2024.
Our live lobster prices are in addition to the frozen meat and tail prices we have been assessing since week 47 of 2024.
Then, Mexican shrimp is added to the price assessments for Asian and Latin American vannamei, Aslan black tiger and wild Argentine reds.
The octopus pricing is our first foray into cephalopods, and there will be more to come in that category.
