China’s largest seafood wholesale wet market

Guangzhou's Huangsha Aquatic Products Market is China's largest seafood wholesale wet market. Its 300 plus vendors sell 210,000 metric tons of seafood worth CNY 7.2 billion ($1.05bn) each year.

A marvel for the senses, Undercurrent News visited Huangsha in summer of 2018.

The visit was timely; in 2020, traders at Huangsha are scheduled to move into a new, purpose-built complex nearby as part of a large redevelopment announced this week.
