Reporting to a Senior Fisheries Standard Manager, this post is within the Fisheries team of the Science and Standards department. The role has a particular focus on the MSC’s tuna strategy and technical work related to Principle 1 of the Fisheries Standard. As a member of the team, you will primarily focus on:

• Management of a portfolio of fisheries in the programme and oversight of their assessment – this portfolio will focus predominantly on tuna fisheries#
• Review and development of the MSC’s Fisheries Standard and Fisheries
• Certification Process, with a focus on work related to Principle 1
  Implementation and evaluation of the internal policies and procedures that support the team’s functions.

To be successful in this role, you will be a highly motivated individual with experience that demonstrates the progressive development of your skills.  You will have experience in the development, implementation or review of harvest strategies, harvest control rules, stock assessment and/or fisheries information. Practical experience with fisheries for tuna or other highly migratory species, policy development and sustainability standards are highly desirable.
