Job description

Hofseth North America is a leading importer and distributor of fresh and frozen seafood products from around the world with a specific focus on Norway and New Zealand.

Looking for an experienced Seafood Sales Executive to support the growing sales team of Hofseth North America. The candidate will be a key contributor to our young and evolving team in Chicago.

The ideal candidate must meet the following criteria:

·         Sales Executive will be responsible for exploring outside customers and opportunities to grow the business

·         Sales will be responsible for understanding and staying current with market information and product specification to customers

·         Study market trends and recommend strategic products and specifications according to their needs

  •          Work closely with procurement to have complete knowledge of seafood market and the swings of currency
  •         Collaborate with Fresh and Frozen logistics on ensuring proper deliveries and schedules are maintained for your customer

·         Assist Director of Operations and sales team to determine timing of customer contracts for specific products

·         Ensure that timing or customer POs are in inline with Hofseth’s strategy of always providing the fair price for the customer and supplier

·         Work with internal quality assurance to determine specifications for each customer or potential contract

·         Prepare sales orders so that logistics make complete the scheduled deliveries for customer accounts

·         Support the product team’s financial goals, product mix, business relationships and any innovative needs

·         Provide support and assistance to CEO whenever needed

·         Directly report to CEO

·         Weekly meeting with executive team to discuss market and strategy

Job Requirements / Skills & Experience Requirements

·         Proven three years experience as global sales excecutive, seafood/frozen supply chain experience is a must

·         University degree and/or 4 year college Diploma preferred

·         Superior organization and Time Management Skills required

·         Proficient in MS Office

·         In depth knowledge and understanding of seafood markets – salmon preferred

·         Familiarity with basic research methods and reporting techniques

·         Outstanding communication abilities

·         Integrity and confidentiality

·         Strong attention to detail

·         Excellent verbal, written, communication and problem solving skills

·         Demonstrate a willingness to get involved, help the customer, help a fellow team member and maintain a “Can Do" attitude.

·         Abilty to address changing demands and inate ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.

·         Work well alone and with others

Base Pay + Commission: Negotiable
