Trapia is a sustainable breeder of Tilapia and is 85% owned by Glastad Capital. Trapia is acronym for TraceableTilapia which allows for our products to be traceable and verifiable throughout the value chain. This ensures food security as our fish origin and identity can be verified. Trapia is a vertically integrated company with its own nursery and grow-out operations and a dedicated fillet processing plant.

Are you interested in farming and want to live in Malaysias prime melting pot? We are now searching for a proactive and motivated CEO for Trapia in Penang, Malaysia. Trapia is a farming company that uses the world’s best Tilapia genetics, GenoMar Supreme Tilapia, to grow tilapia in our own grow-out facilities. The company was granted the right to operate its eco-friendly farm in the pristine rainforest-fed fresh water lakes of Tasik Temenggor of the Perak River system. Penang is a modern city with 1,6 million residents, beautiful beaches and the worlds best street food.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Overall leadership and direction of tilapia farming operations
- Responsible for managing the annual operating budget, forecast, and communication of various business needs to support and service companies
- Provide leadership on environmental and regulatory affairs
- Direct and motivate key employees to the management team
- Maintain and develop an ongoing operational plan
- Responsible for providing industry leadership
- Keep in close contact with Government Officials, owners and other partners
- Participate in strategic planning with the executive team
- Responsible for key biological performance indicators
- Build networks inside and outside of the organization
- Commitment to innovation and continuous improvement
We hope you have:
- 5+ years of fish farming experience and a genuin interest for fish farming
- A deep understanding of the complexity of the fish farming business dynamics
- Ability to understand and interpret complex fish farming business dynamics including government regulations, environmental monitoring, site infrastructure, development processes, etc
- Basic understanding of the requirements of the various industry certification schemes
- You have most likely worked for a larger aquaculture company, and have a good track record
