Job Description:
Pescanova USA is looking for a high-performing Food Service oriented Area Sales Manager to develop new business for Pescanova’s product portfolio into food service and regional/national restaurant chains. The position will be expected to accelerate the growth of product sales by coordinating with National Sales Director and Customers to identify new product opportunities. This role will be expected to represent Pescanova’s core products such as Vannamei Shrimp, Argentine Red Shrimp, Chilean Sea Bass, Mahi, and Cape Hake. The Area Sales Manager will work with our Customer Service and Procurement teams to manage forecasting, warehouse inventory management and customer order requests. This role will require travel to industry events such as trade shows, customer meetings, and manufacturing environments.
Responsibilities:
· Support launch of broadline food service distributors’ private label & Pescanova branded product lines by conducting sales meetings, attending customer selling events, and conducting cuttings with operators.
· Management of brokers including onboarding, training brokers on production lines, conducting operator calls with brokers including spending time in markets, and ensuring brokers are meeting sales objectives.
· Penetrate and grow sales of core products in Food Service & Regional/National Restaurant Chains
· Develop new business, penetrate existing accounts to achieve profitable sales growth and special objectives.
· Seek and qualify prospects in accordance with Company account stratification goals.
· Research customer business needs and develop a mix of products and service to meet needs.
· Evaluate market trends and recommend products to customers, based on business needs and goals.
· Be informed of market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales; share information with customers as part of value-added services provided.
Essential Duties:
· Prioritize business development with distributors’ new private label products
· Answer customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, and product uses. Provide product information and practical training to customer personnel.
· Travel to customer accounts, conventions, company meetings, etc.
· Participate in company functions, promotions, national seafood conventions. Attend and participate in distributor general sales and district meetings.
· Participate in ongoing internal training sessions.
· Review and analyze daily and weekly reports such as special-order requests, customer bid files, and sales/gross profit margin data.
· Perform administrative duties, such as preparing sales budgets and reports, maintaining sales records, processing credits and pick-up requests, preparing sales quotes, and filing reports.
· Other duties may be assigned.
Required Qualifications:
· Experience in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality; or Culinary Arts
· Seafood Industry/Consumer Goods experience required
· 5+ Years of outside food service sales experience
Required Skills and Abilities:
· Detail oriented with ability to oversee customer accounts and forecast demand
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
· Excellent analytical skills
· Excellent written and communication skills
· Ability to collaborate with employees from management to plant personnel
Physical Requirements:
· The position will require employee to remain in a standing position at least 50% of the time when at industry trade shows
· The position requires travel to customer appointments, nationally and limited international travel, and therefore employee must be able to occasionally move through appropriate travel channels
· This position frequently communicates with customers and colleagues and therefore employee must be able to exchange information accurately in these situations
· Occasionally must be able to distinguish flavors when in product cuttings and meetings.
Work Environment:
· Position will allow employee to work remotely
· Frequent travel to customers (nationally with limited international travel)
· Position will require occasional trips to United States office in Miami, FL for quarterly and annual meetings
