The company operates a large-scale tilapia fish farming, processing, distribution and sales business in Ghana and is seeking to employ a dynamic and energetic Processing Plant Manager.

The successful candidate must have proven experience in managing large-scale fish processing with multiple shifts including the use of industry standard processing equipment. Experience in the production of value added products and packaging will benefit the candidate.

There will be an emphasis on leadership and management, initiative, planning, scheduling, attention to detail, controls, analytic and communication skills (in English).

The Processing Plant Manager will report to the General Manager.

Key responsibilities:

• Increase processing operations from 10,000 to 30,000 tonnes per annum
• Form a strong and capable, highly-motivated team
• Align with the sales and distribution department regarding their demands, timing and product specifications, and sales trends
• Plan, organise and schedule operations to receive daily harvests
• Maintain an inventory of the product to enable accurate round-the-clock order dispatching to ensure a smooth flow of deliveries to distribution points
• Ensuring perfection of the cold chain upon arrival of fish at the plant and throughout operations until dispatch
• Adopt appropriate software to ensure that there is complete and accurate data and internal controls throughout the entire processing operation including personnel and team performance, cold chain and quality control, hygiene and sanitation, loss minimisation, as well as reconciliation of harvests/processing/inventory/dispatch
• Packaging and recipe development
• Oversee plant HR, administration and accounting managers
• Care and maintenance of processing and refrigeration equipment
• Procurement and inventory of packaging material and crates
• Regulatory standards and certification
• Oversee waste removal and treatment and environmental procedures
• Reports

Remuneration

From US$80,000 per annum - commensurate with experience and capability in addition to participation in an attractive bonus scheme based on targets and company performance.
